To connect hoses
Observe the following guidelines:
Use hose fittings to connect hoses to the manifold. Straight fittings
(P/N972628) are supplied in the ship‐with kit. The following hose fittings
are also available: 45‐degree (P/N 972647) and 90‐degree (P/N 972646).
To use a 45‐degree or 90‐degree hose fitting, remove the applicable
manifold guard and then install and tighten the hose fitting. Reinstall the
manifold guard before connecting the hose.
NOTE: Straight fittings can be installed without removing a manifold
guard. Figure3‐27 shows two views of the bottom of the melter, one with
the manifold guards installed (1) and one with the manifold guards
removed (2).
To prevent stagnant adhesive from degrading in the manifold, connect
the first hose to either of the hose ports marked 1, as shown in
Figure3‐27. Connect other hoses to any other hose ports on the
manifold.
NOTE: The hose port number is obscured by the manifold guards.
Figure3‐27 shows two views of the bottom of the melter, one with the
manifold guards installed (1) and one with the manifold guards
removed(2).
See Figure 3‐28. Make sure the hose solenoid valve cable is properly
connected to the applicator solenoid valve.
Refer to the user's guide provided with each Nordson hose. The guide
contains important information about routing and installing the hose.
Save all of the plugs that were removed from the hose ports. A plug will
need to be reinstalled into a hose port if a hose is later removed.
