Safety 2-13
2.10 Laser Radiation
WARNING! If the system is equipped with a Class 2 laser height sensor, the following safety
precautions must be observed in addition to the basic system safety precautions:
• Operate the laser height sensor in accordance with
the operator’s manual included with the equipment.
Failure to do so may result in injury due to exposure
to the laser beam.
• DO NOT disassemble the sensor head. Laser
emission from the height sensor is not automatically
stopped if the sensor head is disassembled.
• DO NOT look directly at the laser beam or its
reflection.
• Wear protective goggles when using the laser height
sensor.
• Check the laser beam path. DO NOT install the
height sensor in such a way that the laser beam
passes at eye level.
• DO NOT open the hatch while the laser is on.

 NOTE The laser beam is not harmful to the skin so there is no danger in exposing arms or hands
to the beam.
