RUI communication
4100ES power and data from the CPU may have to be routed over long distances in a
MINIPLEX system. An RUI line, routed from either the CPU in the 4100ES or the RUI card in
the 4100ES, allows the power and data to travel longer distances. Once the RUI line terminates
at a remote box, the TIC (4100ES) or RIC (4100) at that box distributes the CPU’s power and
data to the remote modules.
Figure 1-2 outlines this process in a typical 4100ES MINIPLEX setup.
