As you use the positional method of control, the draft control unit ensures automatic
keeping of the specified position of the agricultural machine relative to the tractor frame. The
use of the position control in soil cultivation with mounted plows, cultivators for continuous
and inter-row tillage, as well as in deep loosening, is recommended in conditions of even
field relief.
When operating in the position control mode it is necessary to use support wheels on
wide-cut machines attached to the tractor in order to eliminate transverse distortions of the
agricultural machine, improve the straightness of the movement of the unit and create better
conditions for copying the terrain in the transverse (relative to the movement of the tractor)
direction.
When preparing the unit for operation using the position control method, do the following:
- install upper link 2 (Figure 2.16.2) of the lift linkage on the upper hole of clevis 1 (position
“A” in Figure 2.16.2);
- connect the mounted implement (machine) to the tractor RLL;
- if necessary, adjust the RLL and the attachments.
- engage the position control method, for which raise the mounted implement (machine)
to the highest position and let switch 4 into the groove of position lever 6 by turning the switch to
the right (in the direction of the tractor) to position “I”. For easier engagement, before letting the
switch into the groove, move the switch forward (along the direction of the tractor) until it aligns
with the groove on lever 6;
- turn handwheel of correction speed 3 counterclockwise against the stop, setting the max-
imum lifting speed for automatic position corrections.
At the beginning of the run, set the mounted machine to the desired position. Lower-
ing shall be carried out by moving handle 2 (Figure 2.16.1) forward. The farther forward the
handle is set, the lower the machine will go. After the machine is set to the required height
position, move limiter 1 until it stops against the handle and lock it.
At the end of the run, to raise the machine to the transport position, turn handle 2
towards you as far as it will go. After the uplift is over, the handle should naturally return to
the neutral position "N".
At the beginning of each subsequent run, lower the implement by moving handle 2
forward until it stops against limiter 1.
Depth control can be used when coupling the tractor with mounted machines having
support wheels. It lies in the fact that the specified working depth is provided by setting a
certain height of the support wheel of the agricultural machine coupled with the tractor.
For depth control, set switch 4 (Figure 2.16.2) to the middle position N, having previ-
ously lifted the RLL to the highest position. To lift the machine, turn handle 2 (Figure 2.16.1)
towards you as far as it will go and hold until the end of lifting, after which the handle should
naturally return to the neutral position “N”. Lowering shall be carried out by moving handle
2 forward into the control zone before starting to lower the machine.
Upper link 2 (Figure 2.16.2) of the lift linkage must be installed on the lower hole of
clevis 1 (position "C" in Figure 2.16.2);
When the depth control method is set, if a mounted machine is connected to the RLL,
it is prohibited to set handle 2 to the "forced lowering" position (forward to the stop). Use the
"forced lowering" position only when attaching the machine to a tractor linkage. For forced
lowering, move handle 2 to the extreme forward position. After releasing the handle, it should
return to the control zone (intermediate neutral), and the lowering of the RLL should stop.
