centrifugal oil filter. Oil from the turbocharger is drained into the engine crankcase through an
oil drain pipe.
High pressure fuel pump 4 is installed on the engine (Figure 3.1.2). All pump models
are driven from the engine crankshaft through timing gears. Fuel pumps have an all-mode
regulator and a piston-type priming pump, two control levers. The pump regulator contains
a fuel supply corrector, an automatic fuel supply enricher (at starting speed), a pneumatic
smoke limiter (pneumatic corrector). Priming pump 5 is mounted on the high-pressure pump
housing and is driven by a camshaft eccentric. The working parts of the fuel pumps are
lubricated with flowing oil coming from the engine lubrication system into the pump housing
through a special hole in the flange. Drainage of oil from the pump housing into the engine
crankcase is carried out through a special bore in the flange.
