Airborne Vibration Monitoring System
The airborne vibration monitoring (AVM) system monitors engine vibration
levels. Its primary function is the display of low and high pressure rotor
synchronous vibration on the secondary engine display. The AVM is also used to
balance the low pressure rotor. Balancing reduces high vibration indication or
audible noise and tactile vibration.
