Instrument Landing System Indications
1 Approach Reference
Displays the selected ILS frequency or identifier, approach course,
ILS/DME/FMC distance and source annunciation.
If the tuned ILS frequencies disagree (for longer than one minute of time), the
frequency turns amber with an amber horizontal line until set identically.
If the approach courses entered in the MCP disagree (for longer than one minute
of time), the course turns amber with an amber horizontal line through it.
2 Localizer Pointer and Deviation Scale
The pointer:
• indicates localizer position relative to the airplane
• in view when the localizer signal is received
• fills in solid magenta when within 2 ½ dots from center.
