snmp-server community
The snmp-server community Global Configuration mode command configures the community
access string to permit access to the SNMP protocol. Use the no form of this command to remove
the specified community string.
Syntax

Community string that acts like a password and permits access to the SNMP
protocol. (Range: 1 - 20 characters)

— Indicates read-only access (default).
rw
— Indicates read-write access.

— Indicates SNMP administrator access.
view
view-name
— Name of a previously defined view. The view defines the objects available
to the community. It’s not relevant for
su
,
which has an access to the whole MIB. If
unspecified, all the objects except of the community-table and SNMPv3 user and access
tables are available. (Range: 1 - 30 characters)
ipv4-address
— Management station IPv4 address. Default is all IP addresses.
ipv6-address
— Management station IPv6 address. Default is all IP addresses.
group-name
— Specifies the name of a previously defined group. A group defines the objects
available to the community. (Range: 1 - 30 characters)
Default Configuration
No communities are defined.
Command Mode
Global Configuration mode.
