- Relieve scraper (see "Relieve scraper" section)
- Clean scraper completely under the influence of flames.

Protect the conveyor belt from excessing heating.
- Heat the back for this purpose. This results in asphalt residues falling down
at the front.
- Rework with a spatula if necessary.

Allow scraper to cool down.
- Move scraper into working position (see section entitled "Move scraper into
working position")
- Spray scraper with separator fluid.
Routine check following cleaning:

Check that all fastening parts have been tightened correctly.
Tighten any loose connections properly.
