4.18 Setting a Job Sequence
201
Splitting an Output File
An output file can be split in the following ways for a job sequence:
Specifying a number of pages
Using a patch code sheet
This function allows you to split a file in a specified unit of pages without stopping a scan
when scanning more than one document. A file is split in a specified unit of pages, and
consequently the scanned images are separated into each scanned document (unit of
pages that is split).
This function can only be set for a job sequence. To set this function, select [Separation]
in [Save] in [Scan Settings].
Specifying a number of pages
To specify a number of pages, select [Number of pages] for [Separation Mode].
Using this setting splits a file in pages determined by the number of pages you specify.
When the last split file is output, if the number of pages that is output is less than the
number of pages you specify, the output file contains the last output pages.
Additional scanned pages are not recognized as an additional batch and instead of
this, all pages including additional pages are recognized as a batch, then split.
Using patch codes
To set patch codes, select [Patch Code] for [Separation Mode].
Using this setting, and scanning documents with patch code sheets inserted into the
points where documents are to be separated, a file is split and output in the specified
unit of pages.
You can configure the setting for naming split output files.
Separator string, document counter, and page counter (for a single page) with delimiters
(hyphens "-") are appended to the existing file naming rule.
Examples of file names are as follows:
Separator
Examples: File naming rule (user name with a sequence number), no separator string

Guest0001-SEPARATOR0002.pdf
Document Counter

files are single-page files, a sequence number for the page counter is appended.)
