HEAD/VALVE

the
front
cylinder intake and exhaust
cam
-Sprocket
bolts.
Turn the crankshaft
counterclockwise one turn
(360")
and
remove the
other cam
sprocket
bolts.
Turn the crankshaft counterclockwise
until the
T1.3
mark
aligns
with the rear crankcase
mating
surfaces.
Place rags
or
shop
towels in
the
rear
cylinder
head
to
prevent parts
from
being dropped into
the
cran
kcase.
Remove the rear
cylinder
intake
and
exhaust
cam
sprocket
bolts.
Turn
the
crankshaft
counterclockwise
one
turn
(360')
and
remove
the
other
rear cylinder
cam
sprocket
bolts.
Turn
the crankshaft
counterclockwise until theT2.4
mark
aligns with the rear crankcase
mating surface.
Clean
the
camshaft
sprockets
with
contact cleaner.
Index
the front
cylinder
camshaft sprockets with
the top
of
the
cylinder head.
Use
a water
proof
maker.
NOTE
Some camshaft sprockets
may
have
perma-
nent index dots
as shown and
will
not require
marking.
Slide
the
cam
sprockets
and
chains off
the
camshaft
sprocket
flange.
Remove
the
cam chain
from
the sprockets
and
remove
the camshaft
holders. Mark
the camshaft
holders so
that they
can
be reinstalled
in their
original
locations.
