Inspect
the
bearing
inserts
for unusual
wear or
damage.
Wipe all
oil
from the
bearing
inserts and
crankpins.
Put
a
piece
of
plastigauge
on each crankpin.
NOTE
'
Do
not
put
the
plastigauge
over
the oil
hole
in the crankpin.
'
The bearing
tabs should
face toward
the
exhaust
ports.
Remember
the
front and
rear cylinder
exhaust
ports
face
opposite
directions.
Install
the
bearing
caps and
rods on the correct
crankpins,
and
tighten
them
evenly.

Do
not
rotate the
cranksha{t
during inspec-
tion.
Remove the caps
and measure
the compressed
plastigauge
on each
crankpin.
