Drive the upper bearing
outer
race into
the
steering
head
Drive the
lower
bearing
outer
race into
the steering
head.
Install
a dust
seal onto the
steering stem and
press
the lower
bearing inner
race
over the stem with
the special tool.
INSTALLATION
Pack
the bearing cavities with
bearing
grease.
'83:
lnstall
the
grease
retainer
on the
steering
stem, then
insert
the
steering stem into
the
steering
head. Install
the bearing
relainer
and
upper
bearing,/inner
race.
After
'83:
Install
the lower
bearing and
grease
retainer
onto
the steeing
stem, then insert
the
steering
stem into the
steering head.
Install
the
upper bearing and inner
race.
