Check that
the throttle
grip
opens smoothly
to full
throttle and fully
closes automatically,
in
all
steer-
ing
positions.
Check the
throttle cables
and
replace
them if
they
are deteriorated,
kinked or
damaged.
Lubricate the throttle
cables
(page
2-11l

throttle
operation
is
not smooth.
Measure
throttle
grip
free
play
at
the throttle
grip
f
lange.
FREE
PLAY:2-6
mm

Adjustment
can
be made
at
either end
of the
throttle
cable.
Minor
adjustments
are made
with
the
upper
adjuster
and major
adjustments
are
made
with
the lower
adjuster
after
removing
the fuel
tank
and
air
cleaner
case.
Adjust
the
loosening
the lock
nut
and turning
the
adjuster.
Tighten
the lock
nut and
recheck
throttle
operation.
Install
the
air
cleaner
case and fuel
tank,
and
check
throttle
free
play
once
more.
Also
check for
fuel
leaks.
