CAUTION
Keep
the master cylinder
piston,
cylinder
and sping
as a
set;
do
not
substitute
indivi-
dual
parts.
Assemble the
master
cylinder.
Coat all
parts
with clean
brake fluid.
Dip the
piston
cup
in brake fluid
before
assembly.

llhen
installing
the
cups, do not
allow
the lips
to turn
inside out
and be
certain the
snap ring
is
seated
firmly
in the
groove.
Install the
primary
cup and
piston.
Install
the
push
rod
and snap ring.
lnstall
the rubber
cover.
INSTALLATION
Install the master
cylinder
to the
right footpeg
\_
bracket.
Connect the rear brake
actuating arm to the master
cylinder
push
rod with the
joint
pin,
and
secure the
joint
pin
with the washer
and a
new
cotter
pin.
Install the actuating arm onto the rear
brake
pedal
shaft, aligning the
punch
marks
on the
arm and
shaft.
Hook the
rear brake
pedal
ieturn spring to the
actuating arm.
Tighten
the actuating arm bolt.
TOROUE:
10-15
N.m
(1.0-1.5
kg-m,7-11
ft-lb)
