The V45
choke
system
uses
a
fuel enrichening
circuit
controlled
by
a
bystarter
valve.
The
by-
starter
valve opens the
enrichening circuit
via
cable
when the
choke lever on the handlebar is
pullbd
back.
Check
for smooth operation of the choke lever.
Lubricate
the choke cable, if the operation is not
smooth.
Pull the choke lever on the handlebar all the
way
back to
fully
open. Make sure
the
choke valve is
open
by trying
to move
the
choke
lever
on the
carburetor,
after
removing the fuel
tank and air
cleaner case.
There should be
no free
play.
Adjust
if necessary,
by loosening the
choke cable
clamp on the
carburetor and moving the
choke
cable casing so
the choke
lever is
fully
open.
Tighten the
clamp.
Push the
choke lever
up all the way to
fully
closed.
Make
sure
the
choke
valve is
fully
closed by check-
ing
for free
play
in
the cable
between
the lever on
the carburetor and cable
casing.
Reinstall the
removed
parts
in the
reverse
order of
d isassembly.

and
the cover.
