7.1.5 Valve clearance adjustment
Checking respectively adjusting of valve-clearance is required after the first
500 operating hours and then once annually respectively every 1500 operating hours.
This work may only be performed by people expressly authorized for this work by Mer-
cedes-Benz.
Valve clearance for cold engine:
Inlet valves 0.30mm +/- 0.05mm
Outlet valves 0.60mm +/- 0.05mm
Engine brake The adjustment yields a valve
clearance of approx. 0.15 mm.
The valve clearance of the
engine brake valve cannot be
checked but it must be adjusted.
