Valve Guide Replacement
CAUTION: Do not heat cylinder head for this
procedure.
CAUTION: The sharp edge near the top of the
valve guide must be machined away. Other-
wise it will foul the valve guide hole in the cylin-
der head and destroy the cylinder head, as the
valve guide is removed.

Chase valve guide out of the cylinder head to-
wards combustion chamber by using a suitable
punch.

Check valve guide bore for abreased material.
The inlet and exhaust valve guides have the same
length and are interchangeable.
NOTE: If valve guide has caused scoring during
extraction, replace the cylinder head.
Grease the bore in cylinder head and the leading
endofvalveguidewithMolykoteG-Nslidepaste.
