NOTE: Never use oil in the press fit area of the
rotary seal.
Push coolant/oil pump shaft seal in place by using
thumb.

Install the new rotary seal by using the rotary seal
pusher (P/N 529 035 823).
CAUTION: Neveruseahammerfortherotary
seal or coolant/oil pump shaft installation. On-
ly use a press to avoid damaging the ceramic
component.

Install the coolant/oil pump shaft using the rotary
seal pusher (P/N 529 035 823) on the opposite side
to support the rotary seal. Use the oil seal guide
(P/N 529 035 822) with a press.

2. Rotary seal pusher
Tighten oil pump cover screws and torque to
10 Nm(89lbfin). Apply Loctite 243 on threads.
Final Test
After engine is completely reassembled, start en-
gine and make sure oil pressure is within specifi-
cations.
OIL SUCTION PUMP
The oil suction pump is located on the front side
of the engine at the bottom of the oil separator.
Removal
Remove TOPS ventilation hose no. 7.
