Removal (Fig. 70)
1. Park the machine on a level surface, engage the
parking brake and stop the engine. Remove the key
from the ignition switch.
2. Read the General Precautions for Removing and
Installing Hydraulic System Components at the begin-
ning of the Service and Repairs section of this chapter.
3. Label all hydraulic hoses for assembly purposes.
Clean hydraulic hose ends prior to disconnecting the
hoses from reservoir.
4. Disconnect one hydraulic hose from the bottom of
the hydraulic reservoir to drain reservoir.
5. Disconnect remaining hydraulic hoses from reser-
voir.
6. Remove hydraulic reservoir from machine.
7. Put caps or plugs on hydraulic lines and fittings to
prevent contamination.
8. If hydraulic fittings are to be removed from reservoir,
mark fitting orientation to allow correct assembly
(Fig. 71). Remove fittings from reservoir and discard O−
rings.
Inspection
1. Clean hydraulic reservoir with solvent.
2. Inspect reservoir for leaks, cracks or other damage.
Installation (Fig. 70)
1. If fittings were removed from reservoir, lubricate and
place new O−rings onto fittings. Install fittings into man-
ifold openings using marks made during the removal
process to properly orientate fittings (Fig. 71). Tighten
fittings (see Hydraulic Fitting Installation in the General
Information section of this chapter).
1. Install hydraulic reservoir to machine using Figure 70
as a guide.
2. Lubricate new O−rings and reconnect hydraulic
hoses to reservoir fittings (Fig. 71) (see Hydraulic Hose
and Tube Installation in the General Information section
of this chapter).
3. Fill reservoir with hydraulic fluid.
4. Operate machine and inspect for leaks.
