FIGURE 6-6 Local APR Discard - Example Configuration
6.12.2 Local ARP Configuration Requirements
The feature works such that an ARP packet to a known IP address on the same VLAN/interface is dropped; if
the ARP is destined for an unknown IP address, it is passed.
6.12.3 Local ARP Configuration Procedures (Static versus Dynamic)
Provisioning for this feature mainly involves provisioning static and dynamic host IP addresses. Moreover, it is
possible to have the same IP address created both statically and dynamically, which is explained later in this sub-
section. Finally, note that each type of procedure has common as well as unique steps.
Figure 6-7 shows a configuration with both static and dynamic host IP addresses. Refer to this figure while
reading the example steps and commands.
