8.10.2 SFP/XFP Alarms and Warnings
The following table describes the alarm/warning conditions. There is some commonality and also some differ-
ences between what is reported by SFP versus XFP. The alarms pertain to several classes of functionality, and
for each there is a high and low threshold. For each class/threshold combination, either an alarm (alarm thresh-
old crossed) or warning (warning threshold crossed) condition can be represented. Note that neither the alarm
nor warning threshold can be set by the user
8.10.3 Optics Data Output Examples
The following output examples show sample data for the XE4 and GE24SFP cards.
Internal Temperature Numeric decimal value, shown in degrees Celsius. Reported from the hardware as a 16 bit
signed two’s complement value in increments of 1/256 degrees Celsius.
Shown as “Not Available” if the vendor doesn’t support query for this field.
Transmit Power Numeric decimal value, shown in units of mw, ranging from 0-6.5535 mw (received from
the hardware as a 16 bit integer in units of 0.0001 mw)
Shown as “Not Available” if the vendor doesn’t support query for this field
Receive Power Numeric decimal value, shown in units of mw, ranging from 0-6.5535 mw (received from
the hardware as a 16 bit integer in units of 0.0001 mw)
Shown as “Not Available” if the vendor doesn’t support query for this field.
