CREATE STP INSTANCE MSTID
Syntax
CREATE STP INSTANCE=stpname MSTID=1..4094 [ PRIORITY=0..65535 ]
Description For MSTP, create an STP instance and give it a name as well as ID. VLANs can then be
associated with this instance.
Options The following table gives the range of values for each option that can be specified with
this command and a Default Value (if applicable).
Example (Create mstp instance mstd9, mstp and region already set)

Option Description Default Value
INSTANCE The name of the existing interface that this route will
use. To display interface names, use the IP LIST INTER-
FACES command.

MSTID The number to assign (0 is reserved for the CIST).
PRIORITY Determines the switch's priority for becoming the root
bridge or a designated bridge in the network, with a
lower number indicating a higher priority.
Ranges are:
0..65535 for STP mode
0..65535 in steps of 4096 in RSTP or MSTP modes
