CREATE SNMP COMMUNITY (SEC)
Syntax
CREATE SNMP COMMUNITY=name [ACCESS={READ|WRITE}] [V2CTRAPHOST=ipad-
dress-list] [TRAPHOST=ipaddress-list] [MANAGER=ipaddress-list]
Description The CREATE SNMP COMMUNITY command creates an SNMP community. Optionally,
the command sets the access mode for the community and defines a trap host and man-
ager. Trap hosts and managers are also added through the ADD SNMP COMMUNITY
command. By default, the community is disabled and must be enabled to allow access to
the SBx3112. (See ENABLE SNMP COMMUNITY (SEC)).
Options The following table gives the range of values for each option that can be specified with
this command and a default value (if applicable).

NITY
name - the name of the SNMP community; a case-sensi-
tive alphanumeric string of 1 to 15 characters.
ACCESS The access setting for the SNMP community.
READ - allows read-only access
WRITE - allows read and write access

TRAPHOST ipaddress-list - the list of IP addresses of the trap hosts,
separated by commas; the hosts to which traps are sent

ipaddress-list - the list of IP addresses of the SNMPv2c
trap host(s), separated by commas.
MANAGER ipaddress-list - the IP address of the management sta-
tion(s) for this SNMP community. The management sta-
tion is a device from which SNMP requests with the
community name are deemed to be authentic. A com-
munity may have more than one management station.
