6.4.5.4 Operation 47. Change of oil in transmission line
Before changing oil, warm up the transmission line up to the normal operating temperature
by means of driving the tractor.
To change the oil in the transmission line, perform the following actions:
- place the tractor on level horizontal ground. The engine shall be killed. Engage the
parking brake and lock the wheels against movement fore and aft by anti-recoil limit stops,
excluding tractor self-movement.
- unscrew the drain plugs 1 (Figure 6.4.38) from the rear axle housing and the drain
plug 2 from the gearbox housing, drain oil into a special tank for exhaust oil;
- insert the drain plugs 1 (Figure 6.4.38) and 2 back in their place;
- unscrew the oil filler plug 4 on the upper cover of the gearbox and refill the trans-
mission with fresh oil (to access the oil filler plug 10 (Figure 3.2.1) unscrew five bolts, re-
move the floor cover under your feet):
1. The normal level of oil in the transmission of the tractor without the creeper
shall stay between the upper and the middle marks of the oil dipstick as shown in clause
6.4.4.9 “Operation 40. Check of oil level in the transmission”.
2. On a tractor equipped with a creeper (hydraulic creeper), fill oil up to the level
of check plug 3 (Figure 6.4.38), then place back check plug 3 and additionally fill with 100.1l
of oil.
- put the oil filler plug 10 back (Figure 3.3.1).
- for tractors without the creeper (hydraulic creeper) warm up the transmission to a
normal operating temperature by driving the tractor and check oil level. If required add oil to
the required level.
- put the floor cover back.
1 drain plug of the rear axle housing; 2 drain plug of the gearbox housing; 3
check plug of the creeper (hydraulic creeper); 4 – creeper housing (hydraulic creeper).
