Then place the chassis on level horizontal ground. The engine must be stopped. En-
gage the parking brake and lock the wheels against movement fore and aft by anti-recoil
limit stops.
To change oil in the intermediate support housing do the following:
- unscrew the filler plug 1 (Figure 6.4.42) and the drain plug 2 in the intermediate
support housing, drain the oil into a special container for the used oil;
- put the drain plug 2 back fill the housing of the intermediate support with fresh oil
through filler the hole up to the lower edge of the filler plug 1 hole;
- put the filler plug 1 back.

For oil change in FDA housings do the following:
- unscrew filler plugs of both wheel gear groups 1 (Figure 6.4.43), filler plugs 1 in the
right and in the left tubes of the FDA beam (Figure 6.4.28) as well as drain plugs of both
wheel gear groups 2 (Figure 6.4.43) and the drain plug of the main gear 4, and drain oil into
a special container for the used oil;
- put the drain plugs 2 and 4 back;
- fill the wheel gear group housings with fresh oil up to the lower edges of the filler
holes;
- fill the main gear housing with oil through the filler hole in on one of the axle beam tubes,
fill this hole until oil in the other tube reaches the lower edges of the filler hole;
- put back the filler plug of the wheel gear group housing as well as the main gear
housing.
