6.4.5.11 Operation 54. Washing of coarse fuel filter
Wash the coarse fuel filter in the following sequence:
- close both valves (Figure 2.22.1) of the fuel tanks;
- unscrew the nuts of the bolts attaching the bowl;
- remove the bowl 1 (Figure 6.4.46);
- screw the deflector with the strainer 2 out with the wrench;
- remove the diffuser;
- wash the deflector with the strainer, the diffuser and the filter bowl in diesel fuel
and mount them back.

In accordance with clause 6.4.5.12 “Operation 55. Replacement of fine fuel filter or filtering
element” replace the filter or the filtering element of the fine fuel filter and fill the system with
fuel (bleed the fuel system).
6.4.5.12 Operation 55. Replacement of fine fuel filter or filtering element
If the engine of your tractor is equipped with a dismountable fine fuel filter you should
replace the filtering element by proceeding as follows:
- shut both valves (Figure 2.22.1) of the fuel tanks;
- drain fuel from the filter having screwed out the plug 4 (Figure 6.4.47) in the bot-
tom part of the body. Do not let fuel spill, drain fuel only into a special container;
- unscrew the nuts attaching the cover 1 and remove the cover;
- remove the filtering element 2 out of the body 3;.
- rinse the inner cavity of the filter body 3 with diesel fuel;
- assemble the filter with a new filtering element;
