8.11 Carrying Out White Balance
\ Normal Setup \ White Balance
The White Balance menu is used to carry out a white balance.

During the white balance, an internal correction program auto-
matically compensates errors in the edge areas of the video curve
that are caused by the optic properties of the zoom lens and the
light source.
After the white balance has been completed, the display shows
two video curves:
■ The orange curve shows the video curve recorded by the CCD
camera.
■ The green curve shows the calibrated video curve (after white
balance).
Carrying out a new white balance
›› The White Balance menu is opened.
›› There is no material in the measuring range of the CCD camera.
›› The LED lighting of the light box is switched on.
1. Activate the New checkbox.
2. Press the button to start the white balance.
The device carries out a new white balance.
After finishing the automatic white balance, the video curve
recorded (orange) and the balanced video curve (green) are
shown in the display of the CCD camera.
3. Press the button.
The safety query Accept Values? appears in the display.
4. Press the button.
The results of the white balance are saved.
