6.6.2 Determining the Measuring Distance
The determination of the measuring distance D is carried out
depending on the required measuring range M and on the focal
length of the camera lens selected. It is sufficient enough to
define a rough approximate value for the measuring distance for
the installation of the CCD camera. The measuring range can be
adapted to the material width later on during commissioning by
changing the focal length on the zoom lens.
The following diagram helps you to determine the measuring
distance for the installation of the CCD camera. The dimension
specifications in the diagram are approximate values.
For determining the measuring distance for your application,
please use the detailed diagram on the following page. It contains
the necessary information for the different focal lengths of the
zoom lens.
