8.10 Setting the Aperture
\ Normal Setup \ Aperture Setting
The Aperture Setting menu is used to carry out an automatic
aperture setting.

During the automatic aperture setting (Autoaperture), an internal
program determines the optimum aperture value for an exposure
time of 2 ms. Experience shows that this exposure time provides
good results for most applications.
Carrying out automatic aperture setting
›› The Aperture Setting menu is opened.
›› There is no material in the measuring range of the CCD camera.
›› The LED lighting of the light box is switched on.
1. Press the button to start the automatic aperture setting.
The function determines the optimum aperture value. This
process can take a few seconds. After finishing the automatic
aperture setting, the video curve recorded by the CCD camera
is shown in the display. The set aperture value (Aperture
display field) and the exposure time (Exp. display field) are
displayed above the video curve.
2. Press the button.
The Accept Values? safety prompt appears.
3. Press the button.
The results of the automatic aperture setting are saved.
The display changes to the Normal Setup menu.
A green checkmark appears in front of the Aperture Setting
menu item. It indicates that the aperture setting has been
carried out successfully.
