Manual ACK not to be routed to the to the Network or impact the RA ACK
selection. An ACK from the RA unit, or simply transferring an account from the
System 3505 to the RA to not ACK anything. The user can override these
settings and select to ACK the local System 3505 on good transfer of an account
to the RA, or ACK the System 3505 if the operator ACKs the RA, or to send any
of these ACK signals on the network to allow selection of processing the ACK at
another System 3505. This includes selections in the 29 and 34 SET menus.
12.5 REDUNDANT OPERATION
In addition to network operation, each SYSTEM 3505 can be set up as a redundant system; that
is, two complete systems, one operating as the ON-LINE system while the other acts as the
backup unit. Transfer of ON/OFF-LINE units can be accomplished by automatic transfer on
failure of the On-line unit or by a manual switch on the Auto-Transfer Panel.
Redundant operation using a T-Bar Relay allows the SYSTEM 3505 units to share peripheral
options, such as EOL32, TCI-6, line driver racks, and remote display. Upon failure of the
primary SYSTEM 3505, or by manual selection, the backup SYSTEM 3505 will take control of
the T-Bar and transfer connected devices to itself. The backup unit now becomes the primary
unit and no loss of service occurs.
Redundant operation using auto transfer without a T-Bar Relay does not allow sharing of
peripheral options. The Backup SYSTEM 3505 must have a duplicate setup to the On-line
SYSTEM 3505. Each unit is required to have its own RPI-32, TCI-6, line driver rack, or
remote display to provide a complete duplicate backup system.
