Muxpad II
Installation & Operation Manual , P/N 700210
The Muxpad provides interface to addressable FACP. This product conforms to
NFPA 72, and used coded multiplex communications. It requires external DC
power to operate 18-27VDC @200mA (maximum). The Muxpad II-RF requires
external DC power of 120VAC@2amps (max). Connect to either a non-resetable
power supply circuit of interconnected control unit or a power supply listed for
protective signaling use. Housed in a painted steel enclosure with a key lock, each
Muxpad is provided with a single FORM C relay contact that may be controlled by
the SYSTEM 3505 with the addition of the relay control option. Each Muxpad II
provides a serial interface to a selected FACP as well as eight EOL resistor zones.
Unless otherwise marked, all zone inputs and communication circuits are power
limited. The Muxpad provides an isolated RS-485 data link (with lightning
protection) and can be configured to operate with Audio, Radio, Fiber, and RS-232
data links by installing the proper configurator card.
Radio Polling Muxpads include RF driver and two-way radio, step-down
transformer, battery backup with built-in charger and power supply. Radio Polling
Muxpads utilize a larger enclosure (approximately 19.5 in. x 18.5 in. x 6.1 in.).
Digitize reserves the right to determine the brand of radio supplied.
Muxpad II is available with 32-zone EOL. When the Muxpad II is equipped with
the 32 zone board, the built-in eight zones are ignored. Muxpad II with 32-zone
EOL utilizes a larger enclosure (approximately 24.0 in. x 9.0 in. x 3.75 in.).
Important! In order to maintain ANSI/UL 864 listing of this product, it is
mandatory that one zone of the Muxpad II is connected directly to the alarm
relay contacts of the fire panel bing monitored. Install only in a dry, indoor
environment. The RS-232 connection to the Muxpad II is an ancillary connection.
Please refer to the Muxpad II Installation and Operations Manual (P/N 700274-
0001).
