4.3.1
Generic
A generic message may be assigned to a certain Zone, Dialer or Box accounts.
The generic message allows the user to assign text information to describe the
location of the panel. The generic message can also describe hazards in the area
or whom to notify for any abnormal condition at the location of the panel control
box. Generic messages are entered by using the “root” part of the Zone, Dialer or
Box number. The “root” number must be followed by a hyphen “-”. Examples of
generic numbers are: 23-, 2-, and 123-. The SYSTEM 3505 will append the
Generic portion of the test message toe very account covered by the
DGM/Muxpad, Dialer or Radio Box. If a Muxpad is connected to an FACP that
monitors 1,000 detector/monitor modules, only a single Generic message is
needed to advise the operator of the location of the building from which the
alarm has originated, and/or hazards at that location. So, although a user enters
the generic message only once, it will display and print for all zones of the
DGM/Muxpad, Dialer, Intellitize acct, or 1221 Radio Box. A generic message
can include up to nine screens of information.
4.3.2
Control Panel Text
The user has no control over Control Panel text at the SYSTEM 3505. This CP
text originates at the building being monitored by the control panel, such as an
FACP. Any Changes to the account text message at the building will display and
print at the SYSTEM 3505 the next time that account is activated. The SYSTEM
3505 has been set up to handle 5 pages of CP messages. Most FACP panels send
either one or two pages of CP text. Up to 9 pages may be programmed for each
unique CP message.
4.3.3
Account Specific
An account specific message is the message that is entered to describe what the
account is monitoring. This is the message that the SYSTEM 3505 will display
when the zone has changed state from secure to alarm, for example. The System
knows the user is entering an account specific message by the actual account
number that is used to enter the message. Examples of account specific numbers
include: 23, 23-05, 1-23-12 30123095. A Zone, Dialer or Box may have up to
nine pages of account specific messages.
4.3.4

ZONE/MUX Menu. The PRIORITY level may also be changed by using the
