System 3505 Installation & Operation Manual
Digitize, Inc. 700248-0002 Rev. C 02/16
Specification Subject to Change Without Notice
10-5
Supervise this D-LAN ID link – When a new D-LAN device connects for the first time, the
default supervision is set to Y. This indicates that if the SYSTEM 3505 fails to detect the D-
LAN device, it will provide the operator with a Trouble indication. When set to N, the 3505
will not report any link failures to the D-LAN device.
Use OPER ACK from this ID Defaults to N. If set to Y, when the operator ACKs the
alarm on the selected CGRMS or RA unit, based upon selections on screen #2, the 3505 will
accept the ACK from this D-LAN device.
180 Seconds If “SHOULD OPER ACK FROM D-LAN, ALSO ACK THIS 3505 UNIT”
is set to Y, and the operator does not ACK the activated RA or CGRMS, then after this time
period the SYSTEM 3505 will auto ACK. The auto ACK will not be sent to the Network. If
the time is set to 0 seconds, the SYSTEM 3505 will not auto ACK.
10.3 INTEGRATON OF THE D-LAN OPTION, REMOTE
ANNUNCIATOR & SMART-IP CARD
IMPORTANT: If the Remote Annunciator purchased included the Lantronics Ethernet
Configurator card, located on the rear of the System 3505, rather than the Smart-IP card PN
400568-0001, the user must make sure that the Remote Annunciator ID is set to FFFF. This
ensures that the Remote Annunciator(s) DLAN ID and the 3505 “TO” ID match exactly, or
communication will fail. The latest RA software changes operation of some user action signals
from using Broadcasting to directly replying to the 3505. If the system in use contains more
then one RA card, the Lantronics Ethernet Configurator must be upgraded to Digitizes Smart-IP
configurator card.
This also applies to software updates of the Remote Annunciator, and options upgrades for
SMS and SST. The Smart IP Card equipped System 3505 will use wild card addresses (i.e.,
0000) to address “I am talking to” functions, and does not need the FFFF. In the Smart IP Card
equipped operation of two or more Remote Annunciator units, the Smart IP card no longer
broadcasts changes such as Operator ACK & Test Mode. The Smart IP Card now forwards this
data based on the other RA unit’s IP address.
Use of multiple RA units requires that each RA be assigned a unique ID containing the digits 1-
9 or A-F.
10.4 THE SMART-IP CARD FOR THE D-LAN OPTION
This card functions as a replacement for the Lantronics configurator card and plugs into port 16
on the System 3505. It is superior in that it can transmit 3505 DLAN output to as many as 10
remote devices (typically Remote Annunciators). It supervises the link with each device that is
configured.
For set-up information regarding Smart –IP, please refer to manual 700275-0001 “D-LAN
Option with Smart-IP”.
