ZONE-DIALER-BOX (ZBD) OPTION
17.1 OVERVIEW
The ZBD option for the SYSTEM 3505 allows the unit to receive a telegraphic code from the
Telegraph Coded Input (TCI) and then turn on one or more points on the 64 T output card. The
individual outputs can be field programmed for which code turns on which output. For
connections see #800321 installation drawing.
This option consists of the following parts:
1. The Program (ZBD)
2. PT-CONTroller (PC Card)
3. b64 T Output Interfaces.
4. Memory Chip
17.1.1
PT-Controller
The PT-CONTROLLER is a PC card located inside the SYSTEM 3505 which
controls the 64 T Interfaces. The PT-Controller is connected to the 64 T interfaces
by a 26-pin ribbon cable.
17.1.2
T Interface
PPO-64T Interface, 64 Open Collector Outputs (P/N 450202)
Each 64 T interface provides 64 outputs. There is a screw terminal for each output,
as well as two terminals for connection of ground from the external supply which
the 64 T is controlling. The 64 T Interface is a 3.5" X 19" rack mountable assembly
with sheet metal. Each output of the 64 T Interface can sink up to 100 mA.
17.1.3
ZBD MEMORY
Enough memory must be added to the system to accommodate all of the ZBD data
entry.
17.2 OPERATION
User can assign any Zone, Dialer or Box code to activate any point output(s) on the PPO
hardware. User may enter a command language on any page at any location on the user text
screen. The command language is ‘@Txxxxy’, where xxxx is any point output on the PPO-
64 hardware. The Y is the modifier that allows momentary activation (i.e. y=M or y =T
activation on a trouble condition.) Multiple commands may be used for one condition (i.e.
@T23, 45, 654M, 23T). Other setup conditions are accomplished via 22 SET on the
SYSTEM 3505.
17.3 ZBD FUNCTION PRINTOUTS
17.3.1
Function 45
The SYSTEM 3505 will output the available functions when the FUNC button is
pressed. Function 45 will print out the total number of points that are set up in the
unit.
