System 3505 Installation & Operation Manual
Digitize, Inc. 700248-0002 Rev. C 02/16
Specification Subject to Change Without Notice
19-3
To ADD a Zone to GROUP 1, have the DAY/NIGHT menu set up as shown above. Enter the
desired Zone number; then press SET to save. The thermal printer will log what zone has
been added. Duplicate numbers can be programmed in more than one GROUP, e.g., ZONE
48 can be programmed in GROUPS 1, 3 and 8. This can be done since GROUP 1 may be
activated from 7AM to 10AM and GROUP 3 from 9AM to 3PM. Alternatively, users may
wish to have ZONE 48 be in the DAY mode from 7 AM until 3 PM.
19.4 ACTIVATION OF DAY MODE
The DAY mode is activated manually by the operator. At the desired time of activation,
enter the desired DAY mode GROUP on the numeric keypad of the SYSTEM 3505. Press
the DAY/NIGHT button on the SYSTEM 3505. The following display will be seen on the
SYSTEM 3505.
The display screen shown above on the left indicates that GROUP 1 is now in the DAY
mode. The screen on the right indicates both GROUPS 1 and 4 are now in the DAY mode.
As more GROUPS are placed in the DAY mode, they will be indicated on the second line of
the display. To remove a GROUP from the DAY mode, simply enter the desired GROUP to
be removed and press the DAY/NIGHT button on the SYSTEM 3505. Any ZONES,
DIALERS, or BOXES that are currently in ALARM (and not included in any other active
DAY mode GROUP) will now be displayed and printed. The SYSTEM 3505 sounding
device will be activated and the operator will have to silence the ALARM.
19.5 DAY MODE ACTIVITY INDICATION
The SYSTEM 3505 will process all ZONES, DIALERS, and BOXES even when those items
are in the DAY mode. In the DAY mode, the items are not displayed or printed, and the
SYSTEM 3505 sounding device is not activated. All NON-SECURE items, however, are
kept in the SYSTEM 3505 internal stack. The SYSTEM 3505 will process up to 500 NON-
SECURE items at any one time. At the end of the SYSTEM 3505 display rotation, a screen
indicates that the user has reached the end and indicates how many items are active
(displayed). In addition, the SYSTEM 3505 will advise how many items are NON-SECURE
but in the DAY mode. The screen shown below on the left indicates that there are no items in
DAY mode (one or more DAY mode GROUPS may be active, but all items in that DAY
mode are currently SECURE). The screen on the right indicates that there are 21 NON-
SECURE items. The total items in the stack are 3 + 21 or 24 items. This item combination
should not be allowed to exceed 500. If all DAY GROUPS were to now be placed in the
secure (NIGHT) mode, the SYSTEM 3505 will report 21 new ALARMS.
The number of items shown in the DAY mode will constantly vary based on changes in
condition of the ZONE DIALER or BOX sensor.
19.6 DAY MODE ACTIVITY PRINTOUT
Items in the DAY mode are not displayed. These items however will be printed on the
SYSTEM 3505 printer when the STATUS button is pressed. In addition to the NON-
SECURE ZONES, DIALERS, and BOXES the thermal printer will also print sensors in the
DAY mode that are currently not secure. Items printed in regular high characters are actual
conditions. Items printed in half height text are NON-SECURE items that are currently in the
DAY mode.
