DDI-9E & DDI-10E COMMUNICATOR RECEIVER CARDs
7.1 OVERVIEW
This section is applicable to a DDI-9E as well as a DDI-10E, which for the purpose of simplicity
in this section, will be referred to as a DDI-9/10E.
The DDI-9/10E is a dual phone line external dialer receiver module capable of processing
Contact ID and various other account protocols. Only one DDI-9/10E may be connected to a
SYSTEM 3505. In a Primary/Redundant SYSTEM 3505 configuration, both the Primary and the
backup 3505 can each have a DDI-9/10E receiver attached to it. The DDI-9/10E has been FM
approved with the SYSTEM 3505.
The Digital Dialer interface option allows the SYSTEM 3505 to receive alarms through the dial
up telephone network. The dialer option software provides conversion of coded information from
the receiver into the proper format for processing by the SYSTEM 3505. In the case of a
redundant SYSTEM 3505 configuration, each SYSTEM 3505 requires a Digital Dialer interface
option. The SYSTEM 3505 can accommodate 1,600 Dialer accounts.
The DDI-9/10E is a dual-line external dialer receiver module, P/N 425196-0001 [DDI-9E/10 with
RS-232 Configurator Card and MEM-ID] or P/N 425196-0002 [DDI-9E/10E with Quad Serial
Card and MEM ID], that will accept any pulsed dialer rate from 10 to 40 (37) BPS using 3x1
through 4x2 formats. Contact ID (using 9 + 3 SYSTEM 3505 accounts) format also operates with
the DDI-9/10E. The System 3505 supports a 4-digit customer account, a 2-digit Group/Sector
and a 3-digit zone (forming 9 digits). The message type is added to the user text message,
providing the final three digit representing the 9+3 digit format. This enhancement allows the
program to match the “9 digit account number” with a specific event type and to maintain this
relationship even within a Network environment. The added three digits (providing the 9 + 3) are
included in the data string sent to CAPS II automation output as well as CGRMS and Remote
Annunciator via the D-LAN option. The 3505, Automation and Remote Annunciator can
distinguish between two separate events within a single account.
The User can now add text messages to differentiate between the two identical account numbers
by adding the event type to the last four locations of the user text message, i.e. M110 and M300
for each page programmed. This capability allows the user to assign @ commands to a specific
account/event code, so the System 3505 can take specific actions(s) on a specific activation of an
event.
The following dialer formats are supported by the DDI-9/10E:
A- Silent Knight/Ademco slow, 10 BPS 3/1, 4/1, 4/2, non-extended format
B- Silent Knight fast, 20 BPS 3/1, 4/1, 4/2, non-extended format
