6.4 OPERATING PROCEDURE
6.4.1
Priorities
The SYSTEM 3505 unit is factory preset with eight levels of priority. The
priority levels ensure that high priority alarms are immediately indicated on the
screen in the event that a previous alarm remains unACKnowledged. The
priority of the alarm is selected prior to entering text messages. The SYSTEM
3505 prompts for the desired priority level. Selecting the desired priority level
tells the SYSTEM 3505 which alarm to process first in the event of multiple
alarms. It also instructs the SYSTEM 3505 which sound to use when that
priority alarm is received. If no text message is entered, then the system assigns
the alarm point the lowest priority level of 8. Priority level 1 is the highest and
priority level 8 is the lowest. Note that priority 1 is used for FIRE alarms, level 2
for BURGLARY, level 3 for FA SUPR, level 4 for BURG SUP. The priority
level word assignment may be changed. The priority is entered into the system
by the external keyboard. When entering the ADD mode, the system will ask for
the priority level of the alarm point. Any combination of priority levels can be
used. The following is an example of how the priority levels may be assigned.
Based on the preferred application, the priorities may be altered.
