Interface Configuration

Command Usage
The craft interface is provided as an out-of-band management connection which is
isolated from all other ports on the switch. This interface must first be configured
with an IPv4 or IPv6 address before a connection can be made through Telnet, SSH,
or HTTP.
Example
To specify port 4, enter the following command:
Console(config)#interface ethernet 1/4
Console(config-if)#
alias This command configures an alias name for the interface. Use the no form to
remove the alias name.
Syntax
alias string
no alias
string - A mnemonic name to help you remember what is attached to this
interface. (Range: 1-64 characters)

Command Usage
The alias is displayed in the running-configuration file. An example of the value
which a network manager might store in this object for a WAN interface is the
(Telco's) circuit number/identifier of the interface.
Example
The following example adds an alias to port 4.
Console(config)#interface ethernet 1/4
Console(config-if)#alias finance
