DOOR OPEN
Description
The iPECS hardware is equipped with relays that activate External Control Contacts. The
contacts can be assigned to one of several functions including a Door Open Contact. When
used as a Door Open Contact, the contact is connected to a door-lock release mechanism.
When assigned stations receive the Door Bell signal, the user may dial the Door Open code to
activate the contact.
iPECS Phone users may assign a Flex button as a {DOOR OPEN} button.
Operation
iPECS Phone
To assign a {DOOR OPEN} button
1. [PGM] + {FLEX} + Door Open code (“#*1”, “#*2”, “#*3” or “#*4”) + [SAVE]
To activate the relay contact
1. Lift handset or press [SPEAKER] button.
2. Dial Door Open code, “#*1”, “#*2”, “#*3” or “#*4”.
3. Hang-up to return to idle.
Or,
1. Lift handset or press [SPEAKER].
2. Press the {DOOR OPEN} button.
3. Hang-up to return to idle.
Conditions
1. The number of relay contacts available varies based on the system size. Refer to
Table 1.2-1 for the number of available contacts.
2. The Door Open feature dial code is based on the assigned External Contact as
below:
External Contact 1 = “#*1”
External Contact 2 = “#*2”
External Contact 3 = “#*3”
External Contact 4 = “#*4”
3. The contacts are rated at 1 amp, 24 VDC.
4. A station will receive error tone if not allowed access to Door Open.(PGM 113-Btn
