3.7.7 Addressable Node Expander-Multi-Ring Twisted-Pair (ANX-
MR-UTP)
The Addressable Node Expander Multi-Ring, Twisted-Pair panel provides the following features:
• The unit contains a primary and secondary network interface for multi-ring communication.
• Offers Ethernet connectivity for configuration or FocalPoint
®
communication.
• The primary E3 Series network interface supports a Local Network connection that uses a
ribbon cable within a single cabinet.
To add the twisted-pair and/or fiber-optic connections for primary communication outside the local
network, use the RPT-E3-UTP or RPT-E3-FO sub-assemblies.
The secondary E3 Series network connection does not allow Local Network (ribbon cable)
connections, but the secondary network does include a full twisted-pair interface. The external
RPT-E3 is not required.
