SA (Spectrum Analyzer) Mode (Option 233–Mixed Analyzers)FUTURE
SA Mode Settings
The baseband path, which is available to analyze signals up to 6.5 MHz, is
disabled by default, and for Preset. When disabled, the SA Receiver maintains
the standard analog mixing stages to analyze this low frequency (<6.5MHz)
range.
How to select the Baseband Path
1. Press Freq/Dist
> More
2. Then
Baseband [Disabled] Press to Enabled] (Default == Disabled).
3. To complete the Baseband enabling (activation) process:
— Optional: Adjust the preamp /gain for a lower power setting
(Requires Option 235):
— Press Freq/Dist
> Baseband [Disabled] Then choose:
——b1 Preamp Gain High Low (Default == High
(standard preamp), Low is approximately –3 dB
from the High (standard preamp) setting).
——b2 Preamp Gain High Low (Default == High
(standard preamp), Low is approximately –3 dB
from the High (standard preamp) setting).
— In normal SA mode, the RF portion of the frequency spectrum must
include a spectrum that is ≤6.5 MHz.
— Optional: In SA’s IQ Analysis measurement, the IF path must be
Narrow 10 MHz.
a. Press Meas Setup 4
> IQ Analysis and then [General].
b. Verify
IF Output Use is set to [Narrow].
b1 Preamp Gain softkey is only active /available when
Baseband is enabled.
b1 Preamp Gain is only effective for RF frequencies
between 6.5 MHz and 15 MHz. Preamp Low does not
impact frequencies >15 MHz. Standard preamp
operates for frequencies >15 MHz.
b2 Preamp Gain softkey is only active /available when
Baseband is enabled.
b2 Preamp Gain is only effective for RF frequencies
>15 MHz.
