RTSA (Real-time Spectrum Analyzer) Mode—Option 350
RTSA Mode Settings
How to set Single or Continuous
—Press Sweep 3
.
Then choose one of the following:
Continuous
——ON Causes the RTSA to make continuous sweeps. This is the
typical setting for making measurements. Each Run / Hold +/-
press causes the RTSA to toggle between continuous sweep
and Hold.
——OFF Causes the RTSA to Hold. Each Run / Hold +/- or Single
press causes the RTSA to make ONE sweep, then Hold. The
Hold annotation changes to an arrow --> while the sweep
occurs.
Single Automatically sets Continuous OFF and causes the RTSA to
make ONE sweep, then Hold.
Restart Resets the average counter to 1. If Continuous sweep is OFF,
it also causes Average Count (n) sweeps to occur if any Trace State is
set to RMS Average, MinHold, or MaxHold. This softkey is also used
to clear the Spectrogram display. Learn more in

Baseband (N99xxC-Series FieldFox Models Only with Option 350
RTSA or Option 233 SA–Mixed Models)
The SA Receiver has a new path, referred to as “Baseband”, which provides
improved sensitivity (i.e., lower DANL), lower phase noise, less LO
Feedthru. The baseband receiver path avoids analog mixing stages, and
instead routes the SA input signal (after RF Attenuation) more directly to an
Analog to Digital converter. There is no Preamp available in the baseband
path. The baseband path is available in both SA and RTSA modes.
The baseband path analyzes RF input frequencies up to 6.5 MHz only. When
used for RTSA or SA's IQ Analysis measurement, the baseband path is not
activated for spans >10MHz. The FieldFox C-Series RTSA and SA IQ Analysis
may still have wider IQ bandwidth capability, up to 120 MHz like all B models
(requires Option B04 (40 MHz) /B10 (100 MHz)). But, that wider IQ bandwidth
is not available in the baseband path.
The baseband path, which is available to analyze signals up to 6.5 MHz, is
disabled by default, and for Preset. When disabled, the SA Receiver maintains
the standard analog mixing stages to analyze this low frequency (<6.5MHz)
range.
