Troubleshooting
This section contains the following:
LAN Sensors
“If the FieldFox LAN is removed during the use of the LAN sensor, the
following steps can be taken to re-establish control of the Sensor:” on

following steps can be taken to re-establish control over the
measurement:” on page 578
LAN Sensors
If a LAN sensor cable or LAN sensor is not communicating properly with the
FieldFox:
If the FieldFox LAN is removed during the use of the LAN sensor, the
following steps can be taken to re-establish control of the Sensor:
1. Reconnect the LAN sensor to the FieldFox and await confirmation the
FieldFox has obtained its IP address via the connection.
A self-assigned IP address may be shown briefly while FieldFox tries to get
connected to the LAN again after it has been removed. Before proceeding
to the next step, ensure the correct IP has been obtained by the FieldFox.
a. You can view the IP address by selecting:
System
> System Configuration > More > LAN to display the current
IP address.
b. Press Done to exit the LAN menu.
2. Once FieldFox has obtained its IP address again, press the Reconnect
button:
Press Meas Setup 4
> More > LAN Sensor Settings > Reconnect location
in the softkey menu.
The FieldFox will attempt to restore the connection and the settings for the
sensor.
If the Sensor LAN is removed during the use of the LAN sensor, the
following steps can be taken to re-establish control over the
measurement:
1. Reconnect the LAN cable to the sensor.
2. Observe the LEDs near the LAN cable connection:
a. The PWR LED will turn on while the Sensor is waking up and
initializing.
