12.1.1 General

This chapter provides informaon on general sengs of feedback systems for the motor con-
trol.
Pressing the Select resolver or Select encoder buon displays a list of resolvers or encoders.
If the displayed list contains the feedback system used, the data is applied automacally.
Otherwise, you must enter the data of the feedback system manually.
Monitoring of the encoder cable for wire breakage
The resolver or encoder cable can be monitored for wire breakage in the default sengs of
parameter 0x2C45.
DANGER!
When the encoder / resolver is used as a motor encoder, safe motor operaon is not possible
in the e
vent of an error.

Fault should always be used as a response for resolver/encoder wire breakage monitoring.
▶
To prevent interference injecons when using an encoder, only use shielded motor and
encoder cables.
Wire breakage monitoring trips in the following cases:

Sensivity of wire breakage monitoring
The sensivity of wire breakage monitoring can be set as a percentage using the 0x2C47
parameter.
Reducing the monitoring sensivity is advantageous in environments that are severely aec-
ted by EMC problems.
If the
sensivity is not reduced (100 %), the soware response me of monitor-
ing in case of an encoder is approx. 3.5 ms and in case of a resolver 0.3 ms.
Halving the sensivity means doubling the response me.
NOTICE
A reduced sensivity delays the response in case of wire breakage!
