Connecon of the hardware limit switches
The hardware limit switches are assigned to the digital inputs via the Source for posive hard-
ware limit switch and Source for negave hardware limit switch parameters.

Sour
ce for negave hardware limit switch 40x5020:005
The limit switch evaluaon responds to a posive edge.
If the limit switch connecons for the digital inputs used are to be fail-safe,
chang
e the terminal polarity of the corresponding digital inputs.
Triggering of the hardware limit switches
If either of the hardware limit switches is triggered and the signal at the input = TRUE, the
par
ametrised error response is executed. 40x500A:104
The error message "HWLimitPos" or "HWLimitNeg" is generated, irrespecve of whether the
a
xis is currently moving and in which direcon the axis is currently moving.
Acknowledge the error in order to move the axis.
Behaviour when retracng the limit switches:
If a limit switch is triggered and the error message is acknowledged, only travel requests in the
opposite direcon (retracng direcon) are possible. Travel requests in the direcon of the
limit switch are aborted in the event of an error.
