19.11 Safe Direcon (SDI)
The funcon monitors the direcon of rotaon of the motor. A parameterisable tolerance
thr
eshold ensures that the drive does not change the permissible direcon of rotaon. Within
the limits parameterised, the drive can rotate in the impermissible direcon of rotaon.

The delay in 0x28B
A:0020x28BA:002 is parameterised with a value > 0.
Machine parts and parts of the facility can be destroyed if this seng is not taken into consid-
eraon for the calculaon of the safety distance.

Only ulise this funcon if the safety distance has been calculated previously, taking the
delay set into consideraon.

If necessary, the "SDIpos observed" or "SDIneg observed" feedback must be evaluated (via
the safety bus or via a safe output).

A safety-rated encoder system must be used.

oder, this safety funcon cannot be used.

For operaon within the limit values, the SDIpos observed (0x28BB:0010x28BB:001) or SDIneg
ob
served (0x28BB:0020x28BB:002) status is set.
The status can
•
be assigned to the safe output (0x28BB:0010x28BB:001 or 0x28BB:0020x28BB:002) or
•
can be reported via the safety bus (0x28B9:0010x28B9:001 or 0x28BB:0020x28B9:002).
Via a safe input, if the corresponding parameter is assigned to the safe input.
Acvaon of the funcon
A data telegram is sent to the inverter via the safety bus. See chapter "Safe network interfa-
ces". ^ 441
For normal operaon, the safe direcon can be set via a safe parameter.
The safe direcon can be combined with the Safely-Limited Speed (SLS) funcon. ^ 412
If the tolerance threshold for the SDIpos or SDIneg direcon set (0x28BA:0020x28BA:003) is
exceeded aer the delay me has elapsed (0x28BA:0030x28BA:002), an error message is trig-
gered and the stop funcon set in 0x28BA:0040x28BA:S004 is acvated.
