19.13 Posion-dependent Safe Speed (PDSS)
The funcon
•
monit
ors the speed of a drive as a funcon of of the absolute posion along a moon
range.
•
allo
ws for the ulisaon of a physically limited moon range without the use of mechani-
cal buers and limit switches.
•
can be parameterised as permanently acve.
NOTICE
If the slip compensaon is used, the diagnosc marks must be overtravelled cyclically.
Machine parts and parts of the f
acility may be destroyed if the slip compensaon described is
not taken into consideraon for the respecve applicaon.
▶
Check the slip compensaon for the respecve applicaon.
▶
Ensure a diagnosc interval test by a higher-level control component.

It depends on the applicaon whether the drive approaches the posion
limit (0x28DE:0020x28DE:002) with the limit
ed speed v
max
(0x28DE:
0080x28DE:008). The limited speed is predened by the monitoring
funcon.
By parameterising a safe creeping speed (SCS), the prohibited zone can
nearly be approached.
The distance to the posion limit (0x28DE:0020x28DE:002) and the tol-
erance parameterised must be selected extensively enough to rule out a
collision.
The speed changeover depending on the direcon of rotaon makes it
possible for the drive to move away from the prohibited zone at maxi-
mum speed.

connecon with this funcon, please also observe the informaon with
regard to safe homing. See chapter Safe homing (SHOM). ^ 428
