19.5 Safe Stop 2 (SS2)
The safety funcon monitors whether the drive has reached the set tolerance window (n = 0)
within the par
ameterised stopping me.
Aer the stopping me has elapsed or the value has fallen below the tolerance window, the
monitoring funcon switches to safe operaonal stop (SOS) or acvates the safety funcon
(STO).
In the safe operaonal stop, the drive is not switched to torque-free operaon. All control
funcons remain acve for maintaining the reached posion.

A safety-rated encoder system must be used.
Without an enc
oder, this safety funcon cannot be used.

Precondions
The drive is brought to standsll via the applicaon.
Movements caused by external forces require addional measures. When the stopping me is
dened, the
applicaon me of the brake must be taken into consideraon.
The restart is possible aer the stopping me has completely elapsed. An excepon from this
is the special operaon.

for SS1 and SS2) has elapsed and the motor speed is lower than the
value parameterised in 0x287B:0010x287B:001, tolerance window (n=0).
