14 Configuring Dynamic
Automatic Fabric
The Dynamic Auto-Fabric feature can be used to help reduce the burden of configuration on the adminis-
trator. Dynamic recognition of the neighboring elements will allow for a quick, out-of-the box configura-
tion. The focus area for this feature is data center but the feature is also applicable in a campus LAN
environment to help reduce administrative overhead.
This feature is supported in both standalone or virtual chassis mode. Auto discovery will not operate until
after the virtual chassis setup is completed and normal configuration commands are applied from the
configuration file, if present. If LACP auto discovery is enabled, the system will attempt LACP discovery
and auto configuration for a set discovery window. After LACP discovery window expires, SPB auto
discovery will occur if enabled. Then, MVRP auto discovery will occur if enabled.
